Kami-sama Hajimemashita/元气少女缘结神 Chapter 23

Hi fans of KSH,

This chapter is rather interesting. Leaves me with some questions. We will discuss after the summary. Aquick recap of the story thus far. This chapter is a continuation of the Dragon of the Ocean's story. Dragon lost his eye to Tomoe. Tomoe stormed the Dragon's palace, killed and destroyed many and stole Dragon's left eye. Nanami went back to the past with Mizuki's help to stop Tomoe from doing so...

Nanami went back in time to see Tomoe raiding the Dragon's palace. She came eye to eye with Tomoe but Tomoe had no response. She gathered that he could not recognize her. Tomoe left after raiding the palace. Nanami gave chase. Mizuki stopped her and told her that it would be impossible for her to catch up if she ran after Tomoe by foot. Mizuki offered to give her a ride...
Nanami wondered out loud where Tomoe would go next with the Dragon's eye. Mizuki claimed that Tomoe would likely go back to his home and enjoy the dragon's eye with a nice bottle of liquor.
Nanami and Mizuki followed Tomoe to a hut. She thought that this must be Tomoe's home.

Nanami overheard a lady's voice saying:" I can smell the sea, have you gone to the beach to buy the medication for me?"
Nanami peeked into the hut... She saw Tomoe holding a beautiful woman in his arms.
Tomoe answered her:"Yes. This medication is very good. Eat it and you will recover, Yurichi. You have to live with me forever."
Nanami thought that this is Tomoe but she could not recognise his tenderness...

... Nanami realised that Tomoe had stormed the dragon's palace for the woman. Mizuki looking at Nanami thought to himself that Nanami must be feeling jeolous just like how he felt. Suddenly, Tomoe turned. He stood up and told Yurichi that he had some unfinished business that he needed to attend to. He reminded Yurichi to take her medication and left.

Nanami looked at Yurichi and thought that she was very beautiful... Suddenly, Mizuki shoved Nanami into the room and reminded her that she is here to steal the Dragon's eye. At that moment, Yurichi collapsed and was gasping for breath. Mizuki thought that if he were Nanami, he would take the opportunity to take away the eye as she was his love rival...

Instead, Nanami went to Yurichi and tried to revive her. Mizuki was shocked to see Nanami helping Yurichi. Mizuki asked her what she was doing and told her not to regret her actions later. Nanami looked at Mizuki and said that she could not help it. Even though she wanted to save Tomoe, she could not leave Yurichi suffering without saving her.

With that, Nanami opened Yurichi's mouth and fed the dragon's eye to her. Nanami heaved a sigh of relief to see Yurichi slowing recovering...

Nanami came back from the past to the present. Mizuki asked her what she intended to do now that she was back from the past without the dragon's eye. Nanami told him that she intended to look for the witch who was a the beach when they went back to the past. The witch had claimed that Nanami had the dragon's eye in her body. She thought she could get her to take out the eye for her.

Nanami and Mizuki went to the beach to look for the witch. True enough they saw her there trying to sell rocks as medication to unsuspecting passerby. Mizuki flipped her booth and told her that she had not changed her tactics since 500 years ago...

Nanami walked up to the witch and told her that she would like to do business with her. Excited, the witch asked whether Nanami was going to give her the dragon's eye that is in her body.

Nanami told her that she wanted the witch to take out the eye for her.

The witch asked for a price to do so. She told Nanami that if she is willing to give her 30 years of her life, she would take out the eye from her body for her.

Mizuki shouted out that that sounded like daylight robbery to him. He warned Nanami against trusting the witch but Nanami felt that 30 years of life is nothing if she could save Tomoe.

Mizuki tried to stop her but Nanami had already made up her mind. Mizuki thought to himself that Nanami was being very silly. He felt that she should not have placed herself in such danger for others. And to make matters worse, she had no complete knowledge of what was going on...

The witch started to try to extract the eye from Nanami's body...

The witch was overjoyed when she got the eye. She laughed that now she had the God of the earth's soul (Nanami's soul) and the dragon's eye! Mizuki stood from afar and spoke that he had warned Nanami...
Although Mizuki was frustrated that Nanami felt so responsible for Tomoe but he had decided to help her. With that Mizuki kissed Nanami and promised to serve her as his God... The witch was shocked!

This is a very interesting chapter. Who is Yurichi? Why does Nanami have the eye of the dragon in her body too? Could Nanami be the present Yurichi cos Yurichi swallowed the eye? Tomoe seemed to realize that someone else was there when he was with Yurichi... I wonder.... What do you think?

Special Chapter of Himitsu no Ai chan

Himitsu no Reo Chan

This is a short special chapter of Himitsu no Ai chan. This chapter is from Reo's perspectives (thus the title). Reo thinks that there is a great difference between his love for Aiko and Aiko's love for him. XD Reo is sulking.

The whole basketball team is having a meal gathering at SPICA. Reo's thoughts have been focused on Aiko and their cancelled date. Reo is upset as Aiko and him have a date but Aiko found it hard to reject the teammates offer to meet and have a meal. As Reo went to the toilet, Aiko hid in a corner and tried to apologise to him through the wall. She promised him that they would definitely go on the date next time. Reo asked her for a kiss instead. Without waiting for her reply, he kissed her. He asked whether she is burnt up after the kiss, she denied and he called her a liar... As he continued to kiss Aiko, he thought that how Aiko responded to the kiss (definitely one day) he would be able to make Aiko loose her heart to him. (Aiko is already quite taken...XD)

This is an extremely short chapter. Sigh... I wish it is longer. Nothing new. This confirms what we already know about Reo - he is totally smitten with Aiko. ^^

Faster than a Kiss Chapter 38

Hi Fans of FTAK,

Sorry to keep you waiting. The cover page of this chapter says it all. Fumino in a Wolf costume and Maa-Kun in a rabbit costume. ^_^ She is like a devouring wolf hungry for a bite off the delectable bunny! XD

Fumino has not been sleeping well since the date at the amusement park.

At home, she is avoiding eye contact with Maa kun and he notices it too. Maa kun asks her but she refuses to answer or look at him. He holds her face and make her stare into his eyes. Looking into his eyes, Fumino is remindered of kissing Maa kun's neck and the kiss (thru his hands, please refer to previous chapter if u r confused).

Both of them blush as they look into each other's eyes. Not knowing how to handle the emotions Maa Kun evokes in her, Fumino pushes Maa-kun away. She is shocked she is having lewd thoughts of Maa-kun. XD
Maa kun has fallen asleep at the desk. Fumino covers him with a blanket. Looking at Maa kun's sleeping profile, she cannot help herself but stretches out hand to touch him...

... Fumino in a bid to control herself, stops herself from touching him. She turns around and tells Teppei if he sees her reaching out to touch Maa-kun, he is to blow the whistle to stop her.

Scene switches to the swimming pool. Fumino looks so irritated. XD
At the swimming pool, Teppei blew the whistle several times to stop Fumino from touching Maa kun. Fumino wonders how she can calm herself down... suddenly, she spots a cigarette butt.

She passes it to the coach in charge. Before she leaves the pool, Fumino overhears the coach asking Oka san to stay back to practice swimming...

Scene switches back to home with Maa kun... Maa kun asks Fumino about the cigarette butt. Again, Fumino avoids Maa kun's eyes. Maa kun envelopes her in his arms and tells her that he will not let go unless she answers his question. Maa Kun ask her whether her behaviour is due to something done by Shouma.

Fumino is surprised. Maa kun explains that her behaviour was similar to the kissing incident with Shouma. She cannot tell Maa kun the real reason... She turns around plants a kiss on his cheek. Maa kun is shocked. Teppei blows the whistle. Realising that she has kissed him, Fumino apologises profusely and runs out...

Fumino bumps into Shouma. Shouma passes a gift to Fumino, a peace offering to apologise to Maa kun for his behaviour. As they were talking, a beach ball bounces off Shouma's head.

Looking into the swimming pool via the gate, Fumino sees Oka san being harrassed by two men. Without warning, Fumino dashes into the swimming complex to save Oka san.

Fumino recalls the cigarette butt she found in the pool earlier. She suspects these are the ones who dirtied the pool. Fumino uses her handphone to take photos of the 2 men in the swimming pool as evidence.

Shouma and Fumino are caught by the two men. Fumino takes a photo of one of them upclose. They chase after her.
One of them takes her handphone and throws it into the pool. Without thinking Fumino jumps in to save the handphone as it is a gift from Maakun.

Both Shouma and Maakun jump into the pool and save Fumino as well as the phone. Maa kun angrily stares at the 2 men and demands what they have done to his lovely students. He further exclaims that he will execute due punishment on them. XD He is very protective when it comes to Fumino...

The police are called in. When they are left alone, Maa kun asks Fumino for an explanation of her recent behaviour, why did she run from him and was found with Shouma.
Finally, Fumino explains that she is too embarrassed to tell Maa kun of her own responses towards Maa kun and she has been trying to endure. Maa kun is surprised to hear this, looking at her intently, he tells her she need not feel guilty and she may do as she likes. XD

Maa kun closes his eyes and Fumino leans forward. At that moment, Shouma douses a pail of water on both of them. Maa kun asks Shouma whether there is a need for him to do that...

Ok. I apologise for the brief summary but I have been rather busy and I know many of you are waiting for this. Thought to get it out for you and not hold on to it anymore. This chapter details Fumino's awaken desire. Just when I thought they will finally kiss, Shouma has to interrupt them... Sigh... I believe the mangaka has the intention to tease us and we will never get to see the kiss until the last chapter of this series.

Dakara Koi to Yobanaide Chapt 11

Fans of DKY, I will briefly describe Chapter 10 before going into Chapter 11. I was thinking of starting at Chapter 12 but thought Chapter 11 is too important to miss.

In Chapter 10, Kokoro and some classmates (3 other girls), together with Jirou Sensei went for Hatsumoude (first Shrine visit of the year). There Kokoro prayed for Jirou. She prayed that he will be intimate and happy again with someone he loves. She made that prayer thinking that she wanted him to be in love and happy even though that person he loves is not her. As she prayed, she began to tear. (Kokoro really loves Jirou)

Whilst looking to meet the rest of the class again, Jirou and Kokoro bumped into Kokoro's younger sister. As fate would have it, Kokoro's sister's was with her teacher. And her teacher was Mizuki (Jirou's elder brother's girlfriend). Jirou had a crush on her when his brother was alive. Kokoro put one and one together and figured that Mizuki must be someone who is very important to Jirou. Kokoro tried to convince Jirou that meeting Mizuki was not by chance and she tried to encourage Jirou to cease the opportunity to meet up with Mizuki again. As she spoke, she suddenly began to tear again (thinking that her prayers are answered so immediately and Jirou will fall in love with someone else). That ends Chapter 10.

Chapter 11 begins with a snapshot of Jirou's meeting with Mizuki. Kokoro is crying and Jirou wonders what causes Kokoro to suddenly tear. Trying to cover up, Kokoro tells Jirou that she has not been very stable emotionally as she is fast approaching her final year and she worries about the courses she can take in university. Jirou is confused as Kokoro still has about 3 years before graduation. In a bid to control her emotions, Kokoro puts on a smiling face and tells Jirou not to worry about her. Jirou does not know what to think or say... After that incident, Kokoro puts on a happy expression and soon they meet Kokoro's classmates who were sitting on a bench waiting for them. Jirou bids all of them farewell as he decides to leave first.

Kokoro and the her classmates decide to go to the Karaoke box to sing. Even as they are singing and enjoying themselves, behind Kokoro's smiling facade, she's thinking about Jirou and whether he had left to meet up with Mizuki.

At the restroom, Kokoro is reminded of Jirou and feels sad again thinking that she really loves him. She tries to control her emotions and puts on a front before going out to meet her friends again. Her friends observe that Kokoro seems beside herself. When they asks her, she bursts into tears... After saying goodbye to Kokoro, her friends wonder about Kokoro and Jirou Sensei's relationship. One of them thinks that it is ok for a student to like a teacher. Another one comments that the problem is that who does Jirou Sensei like. They talk about the lady that Sensei and Kokoro met at the shrine and wonder who she is. One of friends feels that Kokoro lacks confidence and she should transform herself to gain confidence. Yet another of them thinks that this should end before Kokoro falls too deeply in love. They were thinking that it was better when Kokoro liked Fuwa. However, before they know it, Kokoro stops talking about Fuwa and starts talking about Sensei...

Meanwhile back home, Jirou is feeding Saburo (the dog). As he looks at the dog eating happily, he cannot help but thinks about the meeting with Mizuki. He is reminded of his brother's death. He thinks it is no use seeing Mizuki again. He wishes his brother is alive again...

End of winter vacation and everybody is back in school. As Jirou enters the class, Kokoro cannot help but feels happy to see him.

It is time for everyone to pick a number to decide their sitting positions. Kokoro's friend picks 2 numbers. Jirou tells her that each person is allowed to pick only a seat number. Her friend explains that she is picking another one for Kokoro. Jirou wonders if Kokoro is still feeling emotionally unstable. Kokoro's friend tells Jirou that she can't tell him the reason. Jirou wonders why...

In the new sitting arrangement, Kokoro gets to sit beside Fuwa. Fuwa takes out a card and passes it to Kokoro..

As Kokoro stares at the envelope. She cannot help but notices that Fuwa has very nice handwriting. Fuwa tells her that the drawing and the word "Rabbit" is written on the card but... Embarrassed and thinking she must appear rude, Kokoro quickly denies looking at what was written on the card... Fuwa continues and says:"Rabbit is to thank you for I have burdened you by being a terrible trouble last year." Kokoro looks at Fuwa in surprise and replies:"I have never felt you were trouble." and she smiles at him as he looks at her.

Jirou passes a notice of an interview he will conduct with his students individually...

It is Kokoro's turn to meet Jirou sensei. Jirou asks Kokoro about her choice of studies and university she is thinking of going to. Kokoro says that she is thinking of doing arts/humanities in a private university instead of applying for a national university. Jirou feels that it is his duty to help her do well and offers to give her tuition to help her do better. Kokoro replies to say that her parents agrees with her to go for private university too. Jirou leans forward and holds her shoulders and asks whether it is because of his teaching... At the same time, Kokoro flinches away... Kokoro:"Please, leave it alone..."

Realising that she has overreacted, Kokoro tries to ask Jirou about his meeting with Mizuki. She suggested that they can continue from where they left off. In a serious tone, Jirou cut her off before she can finish her sentence:" There is no continuance..." Kokoro wonders why. They are both teachers thus they should be well-matched.

Jirou:"Teacher? Do you think so?" "I don't seem to get along well with people. With my father too... Mizuki cared for me because I was the younger brother of my elder brother. Because of that I hated my brother...I was thinking wouldn't it be great if he disappears... I'm the worst type of person."

Kokoro is shocked to hear this. She disagrees with Jirou and tries to tell Jirou how she sees him. But Jirou continues to put himself down. Kokoro, not being able to take Jirou putting himself down anymore, shouted: "Stop!" With tears streaming down she cries out:"Please don't slander the person I love. Stop slandering the person that I love very much..."

Kokoro realises that she has confessed her feelings to Jirou. Blushing, she tells Jirou to forget what she has just said. Jirou is dumbfounded... Looking at him and blushing at the same time, Kokoro tells him that she wish he would stop putting himself down... and she runs off. Unbeknownst to both of them, Fuwa overhears the conversation...

Scene switches to Jirou cycling... He is thinking of Kokoro as he cycles. He remembers that Kokoro was serious when she confessed to him and the confession was an unusual one... It is a first for him...

That is the end of Chapter 11. I believe that Jirou has never felt good about himself. It will be good if he can see himself as how Kokoro sees him. Things are getting interesting as now Fuwa is also aware of Kokoro's feelings for Jirou. Nice chapter. Story is moving along very nicely. ^^

News!

Earlier, I shared on my dilemma. Which comics magazines to get: Betsufure or Margaret? Many of you have contributed your suggestions and thoughts. This is the results of the poll. Seems like most of you prefer Betsufure. ^_^

I went to the bookshop recently and bought a copy of each magazine (Margaret's and Betsufure's October issue) to sample.^_^. Sigh... such a difficult decision. I think the reason is that I'm following most of the manga serialised in these 2 magazines. I really wish space is not a concern for me. Sigh... After much struggle, I going to subscribe to Betsufure. Main reason, Margaret is published fortnightly (a definite hazard to my already crammed shelves).

Reading the October issue of Betsufure, I was disappointed that Kare wa Diablo (thank you Kanade for recommending this manga) was on hiatus. The series seems very interesting. It should be up in the November issue and I'm a few days away from getting the magazine! \^^/

The Nov issue of Betsufure looks so yummlicious! I am likely to summarise Shiro no Eden & Kare wa Diablo. Look out for them.

As for Kinkyori Renai's fans, I'll be missing about 9 chapters if I start summarising from the magazine, thus I will probably wait for the tankubon before summarising.
