Mishounen Produce Chapter 18 (Final Chapter)

As promised, the last chapter of Mishounen Produce. This is late as some personal matters cropped up.

In the previous chapter, Kousei participated in the auditions. He took the panel of judges out to the natural setting and used it to his advantage. The judges were wowed at his agility and how comfortable and fitting he seemed to his surrounding. Teasingly, one of the judges asked why he chose acting as a career as he seemed very adapt in athletics.

Kousei replied: "So as to win the heart of someone special."

Scene switched back to Kako and Tomoe. Tomoe told her that Kousei would be her leading man. He confessed that the story was inspired by both of them.

Kako turned the page of the script given to her by Tomoe. She was surprised to discover that Tomoe would be the director of the show. Tomoe told her that he had been looking out for a suitable story for his debut as a director. When he realised about Kousei and Kako's relationship and background. He could not help but be captivated by it. He confessed that was the reason for him making things difficult for Kousei recently.

Kako asked why Tomoe would consider directing as he was such an accomplish actor. Tomoe told her he would like to expand his repertoire and discover more of his talents. Tomoe told Kako he believed Kousei felt the same way. Tomoe had received news from Kousei's agency that after this movie, Kousei will take up acting classes. Kako was shocked to hear this. She asked where Kousei would be going...

Tomoe replied:" ...to America, my home."

The production team was scouting for the location for their movie shoot. The team was impressed with the location as it gave them the feel of the countryside. They praised Tomoe for having a good eye and selecting such a perfect location. Tomoe replied that Kousei was the one who suggested this place.

Tomoe told Kousei and Kako to prepare for the shoot by walking around the location together.

Kousei looking happy and carefree commented:It's been a long time since I came back to this place. The air is indeed fresher in the countryside."

Kako seemed distracted and preoccupied. Tomoe called out her name. Kako apologised for being distracted. She could not help but think that although this was their hometown but it somehow felt very different now...

Kousei asked whether Kako was alright...

Kako lamented that since the audition, to keep up with appearance, her relationship with Kousei remained as fellow actors and because of that, she could not tell him her feelings. Kako told Tomoe she's ok. Tomoe told both of them to commence the rehearsal... They would start with the scene where the two leads decided to go to the city...

Tomoe (the director) gave the cue to start the rehearsal. Kousei started acting. He shouted out loud to his surrounding:" Listen carefully! We are going to leave here and soar to the city. We will show the city folks! We country bumpkins will go to the city and conquer the world!"

Kako:"Yes... we are...!" Within her, Kako thought, Kousei and her had been childhood sweethearts...and they love each other... She didn't want to separate from him.

Kousei, still acting said:" Thus, from today onwards, even if we are in high school or in the city, we will not be separated.

Looking at Kako, Kousei said: "We will be together forever!"

Kako forgetting that they were still acting and shouted out her thoughts:"Then, why are you leaving me and going away on your own!"

Everyone on the set was taken aback by Kako's sudden outburst... Kako was shocked at her own behaviour. She muttered:" Excuse me..." turned and ran out.

Kousei:"Kako.."

As Kako ran out, she bumped into someone. She immediately apologised. Her victim turned around and shouted at Kako to be more careful. Kako was surprised the victim seemed to recognise her but she could not tell who the person was. Upon closer scrutiny, Kako realised he was Raichi Kun!

Sometime ago, Raichi kun was still dressing up as a girl. However, now he looked like a man and even his voice sounded lower. Raichi explained that his current look was the agency's decision. They have decided that he should be styled as good looking male as compared to the sweet girl look. Moreover, he had grown taller and his voice had started to break. It would be impossible if he continued to crossdress as a girl. Kako exclaimed that it was a waste as Raichi kun had done a good job role playing a girl. Raichi was touched and embarrassed by Kako's vote of confidence...

Covering up his embarrassment, Raichi told Kako she seemed to have changed. Kako thought: "Change?"

Kako looked at the surrounding and thought about the many memories she had of Kousei and her playing there. As a breeze swept through, Kako thought that things had really changed. When she was in the countryside, it never occurred to her that she would one day change and Kousei had become an actor. However, if they did not leave the countryside, she would never have discovered her feelings for Kousei.

At that moment, a voice was heard saying:" You have heard about the news..."

It was Kousei. He continued:"The news about me leaving to study overseas. I spoke to the producer and he recommended this school to me. It is a great school. However, he advised me to go early. I will be away for about 2 years."

Kako thought to herself that 2 years seemed very long...

Kousei:"Kako, this place is where we first role played your favourite manga characters. I remembered how your eyes sparkled when I role played for you. Since then, role playing to make you happy became my interest... Thus, to be successful, I chose to study abroad. I will be back very soon."

SLAP!

Kako slapped Kousei. With tears in her eyes. She told him:" I don't want you to leave... Aren't you bothered about being apart from me? We have never been apart since young... If we can't be with each other, I rather you not change! Because the you now is sufficient..."

Kako suddenly realizes what she had just said to Kousei... Tomoe appeared and asked what's going on...

Kako realized that what she had said to him was what Kousei had said to her earlier when he found out about her advertisement shots with Tomoe ... She realized that she too felt possessive of Kousei...

Tomoe, unaware of their exchange told them to get ready for the next shoot.

However, Kako started to cry and she could not control her tears. She wondered how to explain to Tomoe...

At that moment, Kousei hugged her and buried her tear stained face in his shoulders and he pushed off and the both of them fell downwards..

At the same moment, Kousei said:"As for me, I have been trying hard and enduring..."

Tomoe stared on with a shocked expression.

Both of them tumbled into a bed of leaves. Kousei breaking the fall with Kako on top of him.

Kousei continued: "When I'm with you, no matter what we are doing, I feel this strong possessive desire. Even just now, when you were crying, I don't any other men to see that. Thus, I want to be a better man."

Gently with fingers touching her tear stained face, Kousei asked:" Is that ok, Kako?"

Kako looking intently at Kousei:"I won't stop you from continuing the "Produce" project. You are the one who discovered your talent. Go ahead and soar and become world's ..."

Kako with a radiant smile added:"...become world's number one man and come back for me. I know if it is Kousei, you will be able to do it because you are my best childhood sweetheart. I am satisfied."

Kousei:"Kako... I love you." and they kissed.

Narration: We were born in the countryside. Although we have only each other, I am very blessed. Thank you Kousei. Thank you for being born to be by my side.

2 years later. It is the school's festival. The school was putting up a play, Rorensu and Bara. It was Kako's favourite manga series (Kousei used to role play that for her).

Kako was trying to get the actors ready for the rehearsal.

Raichikun quarrelled with Kako about his costume... Minase asked Kako whether she is still working at Brights Production as a manager. She explained she was still learning the ropes there not considered a manager yet.

Minase asked whether Kako was getting prepared for Kousei's return so that she could be his manager. He asked whether Kako was lonely as they did not contact each other during their separation.

Kako replied with a smile that she was never lonely.

She explained to Minase that a more accurate feeling would be anticipation. She was anticipating Kousei's return.

Suddenly, a voice cried out:" This is infuriating! This role is obviously more suitable for me!"

Kako turned... and Kousei was standing at the door:" Come over here, my princess!"

Kako in Kousei's arms:"No matter what, we will be together in this dreamlike world where only two of us exist."

Wow. That's the end of Mishounen Produce. This is definitely a shoujo manga with all the cliches. I love it as I am a shoujo manga fan! I love Kousei's possessiveness. Sigh...

MIshounen Produce Chapter 17

Dear Fans of Mishounen Produce,

Next chapter will be the last chapter of Mishounen Produce. Wow! I didn't see that coming. I thought there can be further development but the mangaka wants to start something new or take a break...

Anyways, here's the latest chapter.

This chapter begins with a conversation between Kousei and Kako when they were children. Kako, dressed in a new dress, blushing, asked Kousei whether she looked pretty. Kousei replied a brisk "No" and quickly turned away. Unbeknownst to Kako, Kousei was blushing...

Back to the current, after her sucessful audition, Kako went backstage to find Kousei who had helped her earlier. She could not find him...

She saw Roi kun and asked whether he saw Kousei. Roi kun told her he had not seen him. He asked whether something had happened as Kousei was not home yesterday.

Kako went to the Producer to look for Kousei. The Producer replied that he did not see him too.

Roi told Kako not to worry as Kousei was only away for 1 day. He asked Kako how Kousei was when she last met him.

Kako was reminded of Kousei telling her that she looked very pretty then... She thought that Kousei behaved very differently from his usual self.

Scene switches to Bright Productions. Kako was given her schedule for the day. She was to prepare for a shoot...

Back at the Producer's office. Kousei turned up and the Producer told him that Kako, the bespectacled girl was looking for him. Kousei corrected the Producer and told him that Kako was no longer the bespectacled girl.

Furthermore, Kousei thanked the Producer for his support and help in the past. However, from now onwards he would...

Scene switches to Kako at the dressing room. Shinobu san was in the same room waiting. Kako broke the silence and commented that it looked like they would be working together. Kako asked whether Shinobu was there to audition for a student role? Shinobu told her she didn't think it was an audition but more like was invited to test for the role.

Shinobu told Kako that if they were to appear for an audition, Kako would not be her match. Intimidated, Kako asked what is she in for. Tomoe who heard the conversation and just entered the room told her that this audition is for a Bright's Production movie...

Upon seeing Tomoe, Shinobu pushed Kako aside and flew to Tomoe's side. Giving him her radiant smile, Shinobu expressed that Tomoe must be acting in it.

Ignoring her, Tomoe told Kako that he thought the role suited her. It is a love story between a young man and young woman...

... This couple came from a village and they had been together and cared for each other since they were young children. This story was their story, about them arriving at the city and falling in love with each other. Thinking that this story was like Kousei and her story, out loud, she told Tomoe that it seemed like a shoujou manga story.

Feeling jealous and slighted, Shinobu told Kako that she believed Kako would do an excellent job as she's most suited to play village bumpkin. Afterall, it was just a make-over that cover up her awkward, bumpkin self...

Kako:" What you said is true. I'm sure the character in the movie must have encountered people saying such things to her and her confidence may have been affected. However, she need not be discouraged and depressed due to such negative remarks."

Kako made further comments about Shinobu being more effective and natural playing the role of a bully rather than a sweet, innocent person. Kako asked Shinobu whether she felt stressed and stretched having always been cast to play a role of someone who is innocent and sweet. Shinobu upset upon hearing that shouted at her.

Tomoe laughed and agreed with Kako's observations.

Tomoe told Kako he would not be acting in the role. Kako was curious as to who would be the male lead... Tomoe replied that they had one in mind but he rejected their offer. Now, they are in the midst of searching for the right person.

Tomoe chased Kako off to her work and asked her whether she would like to see the audition of the male lead later on.

Kako thought that Kousei would fit the role perfectly. She wished Kousei was here with her. She would have advised him to take up the role.

Kako's phone rang and she answered the call. It was Kousei. Kako told him she has been worried about him, not knowing where he was.

Kousei interrupted her:"Kako, about transforming me into another person, can we stop that?"

Kako:"Why? Wait a minute, I want to ask you something else..."

Kousei:"Are you working now?"

Kako:"I'm suppose to act in this movie by Brights Production about the love between a couple from the village... Will you act in it too? "

Kousei:" I dislike it that you are moving further away from me and into the entertainment world... I called you immature and attempted to hide you away from the world... I've been so selfish... I apologise...I did this because... I love you."

Kako:"Why are telling me all these over the phone..." Kako wanted Kousei to tell her all these in person, directly...

Kousei:"And because of loving you, I have hurt you... I hate and dislike myself like that..."

"... a man like that is not suitable for you.... so please stop transforming me." With that, Kousei hang up the phone.

At that moment, Kako was asked to go to the studio for the photo shoot with Shinobu. At the photo shoot, Kako mumbled something. Irritated, Shinobu told her to speak up. Kako shouted at the top of her voice:" Don't make such a decision without consulting me!!!"

Kako thought that Kousei not liking himself was too much for her. To her, it was too uncharacteristic of him... Shinobu, shocked by Kako's behaviour, timidly asked her whether she was ok. Kako hugged her and told her that they should continue with the photo shoot and pretend to be on good terms...

Kako decided that she would go to Kousei and talked to him. She would let him know her feelings.

Kako approached Tomoe to let him know her intent of leaving and not staying to view the audition...

At that moment, the interviewer called for the next candidate...

Interviewer:" Ok.. Next is Yagami Kousei kun..." Kako's head turned at the mention of his name...

Kousei:" I've been told I became an actor because of my relationship with certain person. Now, I would like to depend on my own ability."

Judge 1: "Aren't you Yagami kun from Jumon Boy...?"

Judge 2:"Why are you without a manager or representing company? And what's with your attire?"

Meanwhile a shocked Kako stared on....

Kousei:"There is no point being accepted and celebrated when I'm hiding behind a mask. This is a story about a country bumpkin conquering the world!"

Nice Chapter! I like how both Kousei and Kako came to accept their identities separately. Can't help but find the drawings of the bishounens arresting! Sigh... this series will end with the next chapter... I'm going to miss the two bishounens.

Mishounen Produce Chapter 16

Hi All! I apologise for the long break and inactivity. Been very, very busy. Thankfully, my busy days will be ending soon. I'm so looking forward to the Christmas and New Year holidays! Yeah!!!

I have so many summaries to clear. I will start off with Mishounen Produce.

Chapter 16 begins with Kako's classmate pointing at photos of Kako that appeared in some magazine. They were asking who is this Kako and that she is beautiful. One of them mentioned that the girl in the photo shares the same name as their classmate Kako who is a nerd. At that moment, Kako appeared and interrupted their conversation. She wanted to get to her seat and one of the boys was sitting on it.

Roi stared at Kako. He couldn't believe his eyes...

He expressed his shock. He wondered how it was possible for Kako to transform to such a startling beauty. He asked whether Kako was interested to be an artiste (performer/actress)... Suddenly, Kousei appeared and hovered protectively over Kako. He told Roi not to touch Kako.

Kousei:"Kako..."

Kako thought that all she had done thus far was due to Kousei. She turned towards Roi and told him she would see him tomorrow and that she had to leave now for a selection interview. With that she left and ignored Kousei.

Kousei muttered that he would not allow her to go for the selection interview...

Roi:"Kousei, you have kept her locked up in a cage. Although, I can understand how you feel, but..."

Kousei:"But Kako can be happy like that..."

Roi:"She seemed placated but if she is unhappy, she will retaliate..." Roi told Kousei that he seemed rather childish...

Next Scene switches to Kako at the selection interview location. She was told that she was to participate in this selection interview for a"Miss Young Princess". She was to think of an item to perform. When her name was being called, she was to stand in the middle of the stage and perform her best. She was asked what was her talent.

Kako wondered what is her talent. She searched her bag and produced several comic books. Needless to say, that was not accepted as a talent. Kako had difficulty coming out with something she was good at...

Slowly, the other contestants streamed in. Kako could not help but made comparison. She was beginning to feel nervous.

Kako encouraged herself so that she could do her best and impressed Kousei. Kako realised that she was supposed to act as a princess from her favourite manga series "Rorebara"...

Kako was trying to psyche herself up for the role. She reminded herself that it was very much like how she prepared and trained Kousei for his various roles and projects. As she was doing so, she suddenly had a vision of Kousei calling her childish...

Kako tried her best to distract herself by making herself think of her good points. Without knowing, she spoke her thoughts outloud:"My good points..."

Shinobu san who was in the same room:"Isn't it too late to think about your talents?" Kako was surprised to see her. She asked her why she came and whether she came to observed as she was last year's Miss Young Princess. Shinobu was upset that Kako called her "last year's Miss Young Princess". Shinobu decided to hurt Kako...

Shinobu:"If you don't know what your talents are let me help you. None. You have no talents. If you don't know it yourself, how can others help you!"

Kako told herself not be swayed by Shinobu's cruel words. An announcement was made to commence the selection process...

Kousei arrived at the set and was looking for Kako. He was determined to stop her from entering the selection process...

Suddenly, he saw Kako crouched in a corner with her head down. He was shocked. At the same time, Kako's name was called out. It was her turn for the screen test.

Kousei:"What happened? What are you doing?"

Kako told him she could not think of any talents. She believed she has no talents... She said that it is no wonder she could not find any talents. She said she didn't even like herself because the person she loves said that she was childish. She asked Kousei:"Being like that, how am I suppose to have confidence?"

Kousei grabbed her and dragged her out towards the stage where the selection process was being conducted.

Kousei:"Please don't cry , Miss..."

Kousei:"I have locked you in this small world is because I wanted your smile to belong to me alone. I am sorry. You are very beautiful."

Kousei:"You being like that, you are already very beautiful." After saying that, Kousei slowly exited from the stage

Kako wondered whether Kousei is reading from the manga script...

Kako replied:"I... I'm not special and I don't have special talent and there is nothing on me that is like a princess but..."

Kako continued:"I like shoujou mangas and I love the Prince who helped me. This love I have is real and I am very confident of my love."

Kousei at the backstage commented to himself:"Am I a child?"

That ends Chapter 16. Sigh... I wish Kousei would come right out and tell Kako his feelings for her. Well, saying that she is beautiful and telling her that he feels possessive of her is enough for now but my patience is wearing thin... and Kako can be so dense...
